United to
God's Word
we travel over
the desert of men
announcing
the Living Water
that has no end
The Movement of the Word of God, a name with theological more than sociological meaning, is also called Work of God the Father, and represents itself by Jesus' baptism: it is the call to announce the Gospel with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
The Gospels narrate that Jesus went to see John the Baptist, in the Jordan river, and wanted to receive from him the penance baptism. Immediately later, while he was praying, «the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven: "You are my beloved Son, in you I am well-pleased"» (Lk 3:22).
The Word anointed by the Spirit, gift of the Father who makes visible the Covenant of his Love, indicates the symbol of our Movement. The Baptist is witness of this trinitary encounter. God presents his Son as safe and perfect way towards Him, with the force of Love that is poured in those that do not doubt and are determined to give themselves freely to reproduce the image of Jesus in their lives. |
Nothing more significant for our Movement that the Word of God anointed by the Spirit from the Love of the Father for the announcement of the Kingdom to men, expressed in the Baptism of Jesus. Been born of Christ's Easter, we were flooded by the first fruits of the Spirit, and praising the Lord with his own gifts, the Father invited us to participate in his life, by means of the always new experience of his Covenant.
The Movement of the Word of God is a Catholic ecclesial family organized out of the pastoral charism of the Gospel, and consecrated to evangelizing the desert of the world and to developing the Civilization of Love on Earth.
It is an ecclesial family of evangelical renewal and of evangelization with diverse types of members, commitments and services. It seeks to participate, within the Catholic Church, of the Ecumenism of Love with all the men and women of good will, collaborating with everything that is true, noble and just; thus seeking the union of all men, peoples and nations over their differences so that all, without distinction can, through Christ, have access to the Father in the Spirit of his Love. |
Our fundamental mission is to evangelize, seeking to develop the Civilization of Love through the salvation communities, under Jesus' Lordship over the world. United to God's Word, we travel over the desert of men announcing the Living Water that has no end.
