Communitarian Process for Confirmation

This experience that arose in 1982, today turns thirteen years of its birth and like yesterday, continues being a newness for each of those who we were, is or will be part of the CPC.

If we had to define it briefly, we could say that it is an experience of the love of God in the service to the brothers and sisters, in the announcement of the Gospel and in the conversion of the own life.

So brief but deep is our reality within the body of those who served in the CPC. For whom do not know us, our way to introduce ourselves is that of "a preparation" to receive the sacrament of Confirmation; but knowing it closely, we know that the Process is much more than that.

Essentially and as its name indicates, the brothers and sisters that participate in it develop an experience that gradually approaches them to a Jesus who reveals himself and who "gets" little by little into their lives.

The fundamental invitation is to discover the love of God in the own reality and from there, to begin to make room to prayer, to the reading of the Word and to share with the brethren. The CPC is first of all, a service that was born to give life to the Church, to nourish the parishes with their charism. Here there are not some who know more and who learn, but all, catechists and confirmands, share and try to discover what God is doing in each one, because we all have a single Teacher, Jesus, who puts us in each meeting against a new search. Although there is a plan of speeches, the Process is not that, but a continuous search, and above all things, it's a pastoral project.

In communion with the Church, our strongest experience of the love of God happens through the delivery of Jesus in one Easter renewed for each one. On the other hand, the space in that we can share, we live it as a time to give us to the other, to receive life and to learn little by little the mystery included in having a single Father and to discover us brethren, and therefore the second part of our name, "communitarian".

It is also in this communitarian spirit that each one of the catechists tries to walk as a service body, supporting our brothers and sisters.

Through time the essence stayed, but many changes were following one another

The growth in number surprised us year by year. The restlessness were bigger and the invitations of different Parishes so that we extended did not stop arriving, although we preferred to grow slowly and to take roots ourselves in the places in which we were already established. Little by little, we were extending; thus the CPC, that had been born in the Parish Nuestra Senora de Loreto, arrived at the Cathedral of Avellaneda, Florencio Varela, Nuestra Senora del Rosario in Avellaneda, at Luis Guillon, Castelar, Mar del Plata, La Plata, to Capital Federal, Junin, Jose C. Paz and many places of the rear area.

The wonder of this growth was that not only we extended and grew in number, but the Spirit put us in communion so that the Church grew not only in number but, essentially, in the option to look for and to conquer a place in the Church of Jesus, because it's an universal experience, open for all those that do not know God, and that want to do it, no matter where they come from.

We cannot be silent what Jesus did and continues doing between us

Experimenting his love leads us to a very deep conversion of heart and we really can say that we are witnesses of new miracles of Jesus, in whom many brothers and sisters discover a new sense for their life, a new possibility to watch inwards, to take their stretcher and to put themselves to walk.

It is important to emphasize that this service to the Church has, as fundamental objective, to open the doors to God so that He acts as he wants. All who take part of this project can affirm that we approached by the testimony of others which already had discovered what meant to let Jesus enter the heart, for that reason we say that we are fruit of the grace of the Lord in the life of our brothers and sisters.

If this territorial extension were not sufficient, came another one. Little by little, numerous adults began to approach this experience, initially for young people of fifteen to thirty years; so that who at first were a minority within a group, now have "their own group". Their presence was of much grace for all the catechists. We cannot deny how much surprised we were in front of the first twenty adults who began the CPC, because we did not know how they would receive this proposal. Soon we realize that the years had not passed in vain, that God had been in charge to make us grow, and we learned essentially to ask to the Lord that he showed to us what wanted for them and also for their shepherds.

The CPC was no longer a proposal for adolescents, ten years had let it grow and it already had arms sufficient to receive our grown up brethren. Today, without a doubt, we affirm that each of their testimonies questions us and mobilizes us to turn the glance to God and to recognize that his Work continues to be in his hands and that we are not going to stop surprising ourselves in front of what He has to do in our lives, as well as one day astonished us when we were invited to serve him and to announce him in our place of conversion. And this moves us continuously to the necessity to ask Jesus to convert our heart so that He be announced as he wants, beyond ourselves.

May the Lord that be realised in us this call made to us once and that continues making on a daily basis to announce the Word of God (cf. Mk 16:15).

Dear Laura:

In this letter I want to tell you everything what happened to me this year. 1994's beginning was not very good for me. In few days many things happened that confused me enough. I was sad, disappointed, I had fallen in a deep well of which I thought never would leave. In my heart there was a great wound, it was envy, egoism and much hatred. I felt that no longer it had sense to continue living. To speak with my family and friends did to me well but I did not leave them help me to feel better. A Sunday, when coming out of Mass I was given a paper inviting me to a "Process of Confirmation". I didn't have any interest in going, but mom convinced me and I began. Thirteen people entered my life who could help me. Saturday by Saturday they gave me much of theirs and through the announcements of the Word, of the songs, of what we shared, I discovered that God was within my heart. Then the resentment, envy, hatred, were back and I returned to realize that life made sense.

I waited for with anxiety my first retreat. They were three wonderful days in which I shared a pile of things, but the most important was my first encounter with Jesus. To God I must be thankful for many things, to have a family, health, friends, and most important, to have Him. I don't have reasons not to be happy.
